Period Properties

We have worked on many period and listed buildings including Grade I, II and II* properties.

Caroline has attended RIBA led courses on Conservation and has a good working and background knowledge of key aspects of conservation practice, principles and philosophy.

Sensitive repairs and refurbishment works were carried out at Royal Fort House, which is used by the University of Bristol for events and entertaining.

The works may include internal or external alterations to period properties or even extentions to listed houses. We totally remodelled the rear elevation of a Georgian town house  and replacement box sash windows were fitted.

We have carried out Quinquennial Surveys which identify and prioritise necessary conservation works to listed buildings.

Client Comment

"I am writing to say how delighted I am with the work which you specified to the rear elevation of our Grade II* listed building, 12 Dowry Square.’’

"Your designs for the new parapets and the raising of the roof to enable the staircase improvements were intelligent and in keeping with this historic building. The fact that they received immediate approval from the Council Conservation Officer was also testimony to your sympathetic but practical approach.’’

"Replacing all the windows in the Georgian style was never going to be easy but thanks to your meticulous attention to detail in their manufacture as well as in their relationship with the new render, they look fabulous and appear as original as could be expected.’’
