Warehouse extension to HomeCentre store

This new warehouse extension provided additional loading bay and storage space together with enlargement of the staff car park and improved access for delivery lorries, which constantly service the store. Site preparation works included asbestos removal and the partial road closure during the demolition of two brick warehouses. A full archaeological survey of ground works was carried out prior to new foundations being laid.

The new building has brick detailing in keeping with former Soap Factory behind. Civil works to the ground included strengthening of the sub base for the articulated lorries and a new drainage system. The service yard remained open throughout the building works and so traffic management measures were employed to maintain deliveries with safe access. We provided full architectural and project management services together with the role of CDM co-ordinator.
